Speaker Profile

Olivier Le Ber is currently the World Bank Transport Practice Manager for Pakistan, Afghanistan and the Middle East and North Africa region and has an extensive experience in transport policies and reforms as well as projects implementation. Between 2009 and 2016, he was a Lead Transport Specialist working on most of the MNA countries. Activities involved urban transport, railways and road sector restructuring/financing, road maintenance and construction, traffic safety, trade and transport facilitation, aviation, ports. Between, 1999 and 2010, he was in charge of various Transport projects in the following countries: Nepal, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Poland and Turkey.

 

Mr. Le Ber joined the Bank in 1999. Before joining the Bank, Mr. Le Ber was for 11 years a civil servant of the French Ministry of Public Works, Transportation and Housing and held senior management positions in the road, port and airport sectors in France and overseas.

 

Education: M.S. in General Engineering and Economics (Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, France) and Civil Engineer degree (Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Paris, France).
