Speaker Profile

Dr. Bahar Namaki Araghi is Head of Smart Mobility Center at Technical University of Denmark. From April 2015 till March 2018, she worked at City of Copenhagen as ITS project manager in traffic department. She graduated her PhD in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) on 2014 at Traffic Research Group at Aalborg University, Denmark. She awarded two masters’ degree in “Transport and Sustainable Development” from Imperial College London and “Transportation Planning Engineering” from Iran University of Science and Technology. 

At City of Copenhagen, Bahar was the project manager for developing the Copenhagen’s first Traffic Management System, and the project manager for the C-ITS platform for developing the multi-modal ECO-driving APP in Copenhagen. She was also coordinator of the EU-Horizon 2020 project called SPICE with the focus on supporting procurements for innovative transport and mobility solutions in city environment, started in 1st September 2016.

Additionally, she was pilot site leader for coordinating Copenhagen site for two other EU-funded projects namely; C-MOBILE (with focus on C-ITS with 34 partners) and SOCRATES 2.0 ( with focus on collaborative traffic management towards autonomous driving, 9 partners). 

In her previous works, she had a close collaboration with research institutes, industry, and government sector including Blip Systems AS, COWI consultancy, Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), STARLab at University of Washington, Danish Road Directorate, Aalborg Municipality, and Ministry of Road and Transport of Iran.
